Morse code is a method of communication that transmits information through a series of tones, lights, or clicks that can be understood and translated with the help of a skilled listener without the need for any special equipment. It was named Morse code after Samuel F. B. Morse, the inventor of the telegraph. International Morse Code encodes letters from the ISO basic Latin alphabet, some extra Latin letters, Arabic numerals as well as a small range of punctuation symbols. Each text character is represented by a unique pattern made up of dots and dashes.
